Tasha's clowning always brings smiles. The high
point of most visits, though , is when we do one-on-one encounters with our audience and room to room
visits in nursing homes. It seems that Cera, especially, senses when someone is in need of a nuzzle or
soft fur to stroke.
but we know we and our dogs have
helped when we are told, "Thanks so much for coming! I love dogs and miss being with them. You just
made my day!" We also remember the little lady in the wheel chair who bent forward and spoke
softly to the dogs, smiling and interacting with them. Observing this, the nursing home director told us in
amazement, "She hasn't spoken or responded since she has been here!" Once again we observe how pet
therapy can make a difference. This is why we are involved.
